Shaver Lake is a popular recreational lake surrounded by thick pine forests and provides for boating camping, hiking, fishing as well as water sports activities like water skiing, jet skis and windsurfing. During winter months, downhill skiing and snowboarding are offered at China Peak Resort, and cross country skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling are very popular at the various Snow Parks located between Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake (see activities for more information).

I decided to buy our Shaver Lake Vacation Rental because I wanted to create some wonderful family memories for my son and myself and I couldn't think of a better community or place to do this. I wanted to find a home that would be easy to get to in the winter where I would not be traveling up a steep hill buried with snow that may not get plowed or a cabin that is old and in need of repairs. I wanted to find a home big enough to have three families with plenty of space for the kids and adults to enjoy a weeks' vacation or a long weekend. I also wanted a neighborhood that I felt safe in where other kids would be coming for their family vacations. Lastly, I wanted to be close to town and the lake and only a short drive to the ski resort. I found that with the Sierra Pines development. I love to entertain and it is important to me to have a home that is beautifully decorated, comfortable and with all the necessities needed to have those great cabin meals. The cabin is furnished with high quality furniture and art that I have collected from all over. People have asked me why in the world would I want to have such nice things in a vacation rental cabin but my response is that when I go away on vacation, I want to go to a place that is as nice or nicer than my own home. I hope I have created that environment! It is important to me that you love my Shaver Lake Vacation Rental as much as I do and I have decided this year to manage it on my own with the help of a dedicated maintenance contractor and housekeeper. For the last couple of years, I have had a property management company handling my Shaver Lake Vacation Rental but was never happy with the way the property was being cleaned, managed or the price the guests were being charged. I want to make sure that when a guest is coming to my cabin, they arrive to an immaculate home. I also wanted to ensure that things are kept up and repairs are done in a timely manner. It is important to me that the bedding (bedspreads and blankets) are laundered. I change out the bedspreads regularly so the bedding in the different rooms may be different from the pictures you see. I have a wonderful housekeeper who only cleans my cabin and is a stickler for making sure everything is perfect. As a guest, you should know the cleaning fee you are paying goes 100% to my housekeeper and Maintenance contractor who opens and closes the property making sure the water and heat on are when you arrive. I also do not want people to pay for a non-refundable processing fee for damage that may not happen. I require a $500 security deposit that is refundable! Sometimes accidents do happen but they should only cost the price of the repair. Most people want the opportunity to get all their money back because they would rather have the extra dollars for activities.
